Mini Marquee Hire Burton-on-Trent is operated by Husband and Wife team Pete and Lesley Mason, here is their story…

“We like solving a problem…

2012 was the year of weddings for us!  We got married ourselves and 5 of our friends and family also tied the knot and each was a very different and wonderful occasion.  Two of the wedding receptions were held in gardens  – one with a large ‘tent’ borrowed from the local Scout group and the other was a garden party to celebrate the couple’s marriage abroad.   Both events had ‘issues’ in that the Scout ‘tent’ was very grubby inside and an emergency trip was needed to buy copious amounts of bed sheets to line out and make respectable and as the wedding day dawned so did the gale force winds resulting in some of the guest knocking tent pegs back into the ground, on rota, to keep us all sheltered.   The Garden Party…. well, we just know that the good ol’ British Summer is all about the rain and when your house isn’t big enough to accommodate your nearest and dearest then a plan was needed.  With a split level garden with 3 beautiful areas to accommodate gazebos were the answer, but finding them proved the biggest problem!

We also had an 18th Birthday and a 21st Birthday to celebrate.  The 21st Birthday wasn’t an issue but trying to find a venue who was willing to let a large group of 18 year olds ‘whoop it up’ before they went clubbing in the local town was a nightmare and very nearly impossible.

Also Lesley’s Mum was 70 and didn’t want any fuss!  Just a few family members and a couple of friends for a barbeque was planned….. but again British weather cannot be relied on to be flaming in June!!  We knew somebody on a school PTA who was in charge of storing one of their large gazebos and they became our lifesavers.  We were sheltered from the rain but come sunset it became cold and dark, we had the cameras and action but needed the lights….. and a heater to replace the blankets everyone was draped in.
